In the last two years, Carlos and Ivana departed from Greece and traveled through the Mediterranean, passing through Italy, the Strait of Messina, Sicily, and the Balearic Islands, before returning to Alicante.
Then, after making repairs and sailing along the Andalusian coast, they visited fellow cruisers and headed to Melilla, Ceuta, the Moroccan coast, and Madeira, before arriving in Gran Canaria and adding two crew members, Nacho and Amparo.
Finally, they crossed the Atlantic and arrived in the Lesser Antilles, enjoying every moment without a defined destination.

Juan Antonio Martin, known as “Vagabundo,” is a Spanish sailor and writer whose full name is Juan Antonio Martín Cuadrado. He became known for making 19 solo Atlantic crossings in a small sailboat called Vagabundo, often sailing from southern Spain toward the Caribbean and back through the Atlantic.
Born in Almería and raised in different parts of Spain, he eventually chose a life at sea. His book, “Vagabundo, un sueño en el horizonte,” mixes the story of his voyages with reflections on freedom, solitude, fear and self-discovery, focusing more on the inner experience than on technical sailing details.
In interviews, he often describes the ocean as a place where borders disappear and where one confronts both nature and oneself. Before sailing, he pursued creative projects like writing and filmmaking, and a serious accident helped push him toward this new life.
